IBM's watsonx Assistant for Z 4.0 can act on the mainframe, but only with the user's approval
Version 4.0, now generally available, moves the assistant from answering questions to chaining skills toward an operational goal, with custom skills for jobs like compliance checks and incident handling, and it executes actions only when the user approves. That is the design to ask for in any IBM i operations agent: it proposes the command, it runs under the approving person's user profile, and the approval and the result land in the audit journal.
